How I Lost Weight

This was a true and awesome post!

Not every story has to be original to be effective. My story has been told the same and in slightly different versions, but it’s here to be told. So, here’s my little story on how I lost sixty-five+ pounds (so far).

When I decided to become more serious about my health and fitness, of course I wanted to see the scale read new unremembered numbers, but it seemed impossible. I had little to no faith in myself. Despite my lack of confidence, I gave it more heart than ever. Decided to track my calories and log everything consumed.

It was foreign and scary, but I joined a gym for the first time in February ’14. My cousin joined me a couple times – she’s an amazing gal who is an inspiration to me. Well, even though she was incredibly supportive and super friendly with everyone, I felt so out of…

Fitness-my journey 11

Mixed emotions today. Went to my hospital appointment yesterday and I have been booked in to have a operation on the 30th of April to have my hernia removed, kinda scary because I have to go under 😖.

On top of all that it’s my weekly weigh in and the machine was broke at the gym, there was no paper, so I walked to town to weigh myself up there I stepped on the scales and it wobbled , I got my slip and it read 12st 8lb I was shocked 😱, surely I couldn’t have put on 2 and a half stone in one week. Later on I went back to my gym to see if the paper had been replaced, it hadnt, but luckily a gym instructer weighed me in the consultation room and I can happily say I have not put on that much weight but…

The Only 4 Words you Need to Lose Weight

Morton Training Systems

Weight loss doesn’t happen without a caloric deficit. Period.

Yes, the quality of food matters, but this is mainly because it is infinitely easier to achieve a caloric deficit when the majority of your calories come from nutrient dense, filling, whole foods. This is simply because you can get away with eating a larger quantity of quality foods per calorie. 1 pound of chicken and broccoli will have fewer calories than 1 pound of pizza, with the added benefit of leaving you more satisfied. This makes it harder to overeat.

Your efforts will not yield any tangible results if you don’t maintain them consistently. Your body isn’t how it is now because of one poor dietary decision, it’s because you consistently made poor dietary decisions over a long period of time. The same approach needs to be taken in order to reverse that process and change your body…

Wishful Wednesday: My Words for 2015

Dr. F's Random Thoughts

Hello there bloggies! Welcome to Wishful Wednesday.

Somehow it is already March. We’ve finished two months of 2015. So far, it’s been an exciting and productive year, though it has been filled with a bit more uncertainty than I would like (though I am trying to embrace it…see yesterday’s post). As spring is coming, I wanted to take a moment of my time to review what I wanted the themes of 2015 to be for me. On the whiteboard on my fridge, I have these four words written.

I wanted to show these four things in how I approached my life and my goals. These are things that I find hard to exercise in my daily life. With them, I think I could accomplish what I want and do things I never thought I could. Let’s go through each one.
